Head Coach

Jari Pasanen

Jari Pasanen was born in Imatra, Finland, and has spent a large part of his playing career in Germany. As a forward, he played for ESC Wedemark, EC Wilhelmshaven, and Schweinfurt Mighty Dogs, among others, before moving into coaching.

As a coach, the Finnish-German has gained extensive experience across various German leagues. Following stints in Hannover, Essen, and Schwenningen, Pasanen joined the Iserlohn Roosters in 2012. There he initially served as assistant coach before taking charge as head coach in the DEL for around four years. He then spent four seasons with Danish top-flight club Frederikshavn White Hawks.

Since 2022, Pasanen has been behind the bench as head coach of the Starbulls Rosenheim. In his very first season, he led the team to the Oberliga championship and promotion to the DEL2. Since then, he has held sporting responsibility for the professional squad and continues to shape its ongoing development. Pasanen will once again head the Rosenheim coaching staff in the 2026/27 season.

Assistant Coach

Jamie Bartman

Jamie Bartman is from Medicine Hat in the Canadian province of Alberta. The former defenseman came to Germany in 1986 and played for several clubs during his active career, including the Kassel Huskies, the Ratinger Löwen, and REV Bremerhaven.

After his playing career, Bartman moved into coaching. He worked for numerous clubs across Germany, accumulating around 15 years of experience in the DEL. His stops included the Frankfurt Lions, the Kassel Huskies, the Iserlohn Roosters, and the Augsburger Panther. With Bremerhaven, he won the 2. Bundesliga championship as head coach in 2002.

Since 2022, Bartman has been supporting the Starbulls as assistant coach, once again working closely alongside Jari Pasanen — a partnership the two had already formed over several years in Iserlohn. In Rosenheim, his focus is primarily on tactical preparation, the special teams, and the individual development of players. Together with Pasanen, he led the Starbulls to promotion to the DEL2 in 2023.

Goalie Coach

Mika Tarvainen

Mika Tarvainen was born in Kuopio, Finland, and has been working as a specialist goaltending coach since 1996. His career has taken him through several of Europe's top leagues and to renowned clubs in Finland, Sweden, Germany, and the Kontinental Hockey League.

In Germany, Tarvainen has worked for clubs including the Kölner Haie, Löwen Frankfurt, Iserlohn Roosters, and Eisbären Berlin. From 2016 onwards, he oversaw goaltending development at Finnish top-flight club Jukurit for several seasons.

Since 2024, Tarvainen has been part of the Starbulls Rosenheim coaching staff. Alongside his daily work with the professional team's goaltenders, he also supports the development of young Rosenheim goalies, making him an important link between the youth and professional programs. He will continue to lead goaltending training for the Starbulls in the 2026/27 season.
