Coach

Jamie Bartman

Jamie Bartman is from Medicine Hat in the Canadian province of Alberta. The former defenseman came to Germany in 1986 and played for several clubs during his active career, including the Kassel Huskies, the Ratinger Löwen, and REV Bremerhaven.

After retiring as a player, Bartman moved into coaching. He worked for numerous clubs across Germany, accumulating around 15 years of experience in the DEL. His stops included the Frankfurt Lions, the Kassel Huskies, the Iserlohn Roosters, and the Augsburger Panther. With Bremerhaven, he won the 2. Bundesliga championship as head coach in 2002.

Since 2022, Bartman has been supporting the Starbulls as assistant coach, once again working closely alongside Jari Pasanen — a partnership the two had already built over several years in Iserlohn. In Rosenheim, his focus is primarily on tactical preparation, the special teams, and the individual development of players. Together with Pasanen, he led the Starbulls to promotion to the DEL2 in 2023.

Coach

Klemen Pretnar

Klemen Pretnar was born in Bled, Slovenia, and began his ice hockey career at HK Bled. A defenseman and former Slovenian international, he looks back on a long international career during which he also gained extensive experience in German ice hockey.

In the 2022/23 season, Pretnar joined the Starbulls Rosenheim and was part of the team that claimed the Oberliga championship and celebrated promotion to the DEL2. This makes the Slovenian already very familiar with Rosenheim ice hockey and the club's environment.

For the 2026/27 season, Pretnar returned to Rosenheim and took on a coaching role in the Starbulls' youth development program. In late October 2026, he was additionally appointed to the DEL2 team's coaching staff, temporarily supporting it as Assistant Coach alongside Jamie Bartman and Mika Tarvainen.

Goalie Coach

Mika Tarvainen

Mika Tarvainen was born in Kuopio, Finland, and has been working as a specialist goaltending coach since 1996. His career has taken him through several of Europe's top leagues and to renowned clubs in Finland, Sweden, Germany, and the Kontinental Hockey League.

In Germany, Tarvainen has worked for clubs including the Kölner Haie, Löwen Frankfurt, Iserlohn Roosters, and Eisbären Berlin. From 2016 onwards, he oversaw goaltending development at Finnish top-flight club Jukurit for several seasons.

Since 2024, Tarvainen has been part of the Starbulls Rosenheim coaching staff. Alongside his daily work with the professional team's goaltenders, he also supports the development of young Rosenheim goalies, making him an important link between the youth and professional programs. He will continue to lead goaltending training for the Starbulls in the 2026/27 season.
