Our Responsibility for the Hockey of Tomorrow
Traditional professional ice hockey in Rosenheim and genuine sustainability are not a contradiction — quite the opposite: acting responsibly creates added value for the club, the region, partners, and fans.
Since 2024, the DEL2 has been taking responsibility for making professional ice hockey fit for the future. On August 14, 2025, the DEL2 clubs agreed on a joint approach for a league-wide sustainability concept — ecological, social, and economic. The Starbulls Rosenheim have appointed a sustainability coordinator to support this initiative.
We are at the beginning of the journey: Following an orientation phase that included an analysis of the current situation, key areas of action have been identified and a catalogue of measures has been developed for the DEL2 clubs. With the 2026/27 season, the first recording and documentation of our sustainability management will begin. We want to bring both fans and partners along on this journey — transparently and honestly.
Our Mission Statement
The Starbulls Rosenheim stand for sporting success, regional responsibility, and sustainable action. We combine ice hockey tradition with modern innovation, develop our youth, conserve resources, and nurture fair partnerships — for a strong Rosenheim and a future worth living in.

- We stand for performance-driven hockey and develop our own homegrown talents. Youth development is a key pillar of the Starbulls' identity and reduces the need for costly transfers in the long run.
- Ecology & Resources
- We are reducing our energy and resource consumption and tracking our CO₂ footprint transparently. High energy consumption and rising costs make ecological measures economically sound as well.
- Region & Society
- We see ourselves as ambassadors for the Rosenheim region and champion integration, inclusion, and diversity. Our close ties to the region and to families are a key distinguishing feature that sets us apart.
- Business & Partnership
- We act responsibly and with sound financial management, cultivating lasting partnerships with sponsors who share our values. Clear, sustainable financial structures are also central with regard to the planned spin-off into a Spielbetriebs-GmbH & Co. KG.

The DEL2 sustainability concept is based on the classic three-pillar model. These fields of action define where we as a club take initiative.
Ecology
We reduce our energy and resource consumption and commit to measuring and improving our carbon footprint in a transparent manner.

The Road to Sustainability Certification

Capture, Initial Assessment & Strategic Direction
Launch of the first official recording and documentation of sustainability management for each club, introduction of a traffic-light and points system, and strategic alignment of the action areas. There is no official certification in this phase yet. This is where we currently stand.

Minimum Requirements, Transparency and Continuous Development
Sustainability management is set to become a mandatory part of DEL2 licensing, with binding minimum requirements. The Starbulls Rosenheim are committed to moving forward both on and off the ice — with an annual comparative ranking, best-practice examples, and transparent communication.
