Starbulls and Pasanen part ways
The Starbulls Rosenheim and head coach Jari Pasanen have jointly decided that Pasanen will be relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. This step follows a shared assessment of the sporting situation and is taken with great mutual respect.
Jari Pasanen has played a decisive role in shaping the sporting development of the Starbulls in recent years. Since taking charge in the summer of 2022, his name has become synonymous with a successful era of Rosenheim ice hockey. In his very first season, he led the team to the Oberliga championship and the long-awaited promotion back to the DEL2. That title win in the spring of 2023 remains a special moment in the club's history — one the entire Starbulls family will never forget.
The positive development continued under his leadership even after promotion. Securing their place in the league was followed by two consecutive direct qualifications for the playoff quarterfinals. Finishing fifth in the regular season in 2024/25 and third the season before that, he succeeded in re-establishing the Starbulls as a force in the upper half of the DEL2.
These achievements are closely tied to Jari's daily work, his experience, and his tremendous personal dedication. He has made a vital contribution to building the sporting foundation for the Starbulls' continued growth.
Given this successful journey together, the jointly reached decision has not been an easy one for either side. It is driven by the conviction that a fresh impulse is needed for the team at this particular moment. The great appreciation for Jari and everything he has accomplished remains unchanged.
The Starbulls Rosenheim extend their sincere thanks to Jari for his work, his commitment, and the many shared memories. For the road ahead — professionally and personally — the Starbulls wish him all the best, every success, and above all good health.
