Starbulls Rosenheim sign Ryan McKiernan

The Starbulls Rosenheim are bolstering their roster for the upcoming season with a top-class defenseman: Ryan McKiernan makes the move from the DEL to Rosenheim and will be suiting up for the Starbulls going forward.

The German-American defenseman brings extensive experience from top European leagues. In the DEL, McKiernan made a name for himself above all with Eisbären Berlin, where he was a championship winner and Playoff MVP, establishing himself as one of the league's standout defensemen. In recent years, too, the right-handed shot remained active in the DEL, consistently proving his quality.

McKiernan is regarded as a modern defenseman who is reliable in his own end while also making an offensive impact. His vision, puck-moving ability, and presence on the ice bring crucial spark from the blue line.

With the signing of the 36-year-old, the Starbulls gain quality, experience, and leadership — and a player who can make the difference in the DEL2 as well.

"Ryan is a very complete defenseman with a lot of experience at a high level," says Starbulls head coach Jari Pasanen. "He has a very good shot and is an excellent puck mover. He brings composure to the game, has great vision, and can take on responsibility both defensively and offensively. He is certainly a player who can not only push himself, but bring the whole team along with him."

Ryan McKiernan shares his thoughts on his future in Rosenheim: "I'm really excited to join the Starbulls and help the team on their journey towards the DEL. I've heard a lot of great things about the arena and the fans. My family is also really looking forward to moving to one of the most beautiful regions in the country."

The Starbulls Rosenheim are delighted to welcome Ryan McKiernan to Rosenheim and wish him a successful start in the green-and-white jersey.
