Starbulls Rosenheim are sending a strong signal of continuity and quality: Shane Hanna has extended his contract ahead of schedule and will remain with the club long-term. The defenseman signs for three more years, committing to Rosenheim through 2029.
In recent weeks, speculation about a potential departure of the 31-year-old had been mounting. With this contract extension, Starbulls Rosenheim and Shane Hanna are putting those rumours to rest and sending a clear signal for the future.
Hanna has established himself as a cornerstone of the Starbulls' defense over the past seasons and has ranked among the top defensemen in the league. In each of the last two seasons, he finished in the top 3 among the league's defensemen. With a +32 in the plus/minus standings, he also placed in the top 5 in that category. Last season, he further highlighted his offensive capabilities with an impressive 52 points (19 goals, 33 assists), coming close to a point-per-game pace.
With his physical presence, hockey sense, and consistency, Hanna is one of the key players in the Starbulls' roster and regularly steps up when it matters most.
"Shane is an extremely important player for us because he delivers in every situation," says Starbulls head coach Jari Pasanen. "He brings stability to our game and always leads the way.
