Erik Ullman bolsters the Starbulls' defense

The Starbulls Rosenheim have made their next personnel decision for the 2026/27 season: Erik Ullman, an offensively gifted right-shooting defenseman, is heading to Rosenheim. The 29-year-old Swede brings experience from several top European leagues and will reinforce the green-and-whites' defensive corps going forward.

Ullman is from Österhaninge, Sweden, and came through the youth academies of Södertälje SK and MoDo Hockey. He gained his first experience in the top Swedish league and the HockeyAllsvenskan at an early age. After a brief stint in North America, the right-shooter developed step by step into one of the more offensively productive defensemen in the second Swedish league, before also making a lasting impression in Switzerland and Slovakia.

Ullman has showcased his qualities particularly impressively in recent years. Following a strong season with HCV Martigny in the Swiss League — recording 31 points in 39 games — he also excelled in the Slovak Extraliga. There he most recently suited up for HC Prešov and HK Dukla Trenčín, totalling 37 scoring points in 41 league games last season.

"Erik is a very team-oriented player who always puts in the work for the group," says Starbulls head coach Jari Pasanen. "He has an outstanding shot, is especially dangerous on one-timers, and will add extra quality to our game from the blue line. We're delighted that he'll be wearing a Starbulls jersey going forward."

Erik Ullman is equally excited about his new challenge with the Starbulls Rosenheim: "I'm absolutely thrilled to have signed with the Starbulls Rosenheim. I've heard nothing but great things about the club and the fans, and I can't wait to get to Rosenheim. I'll give everything for the team every single game and do my part to make sure we have a successful season together."
